Bagan
Bagan,
located on a broad river plain of the Ayrewaddy (Irawaddy when I took geography)
River. Bagan is one of the relatively unsung archeological treasures of
the world. On this plain can be found more than 2000 stupas (Buddhist shrines)
and Pahtos (temples) stretching as far as the eye can see. From our home
base at the Thiripyitsaya Hotel, located on the banks of the Ayrewaddy,
we explored some of the more prominent architectural monuments from the
great era of the temple builders. Click on the images below to visit
